Audrey Anne Miles Cherney is a trained scientific illustrator and an award winning watercolor artist with a unique combination of education and work experiences. She received a Bachelor of Science from Colorado State University in 1999 with two major fields of study: Forestry with an emphasis in forest biology, and Art with an emphasis on studio arts. In 2005 she became a certified scientific illustrator from the University of Washington. This combination of education has given her a unique understanding and appreciation of nature, natural processes, the human form, and aesthetic values.
Audrey Anne has gained valuable knowledge and skills as a biological science technician, community educator, and habitat restoration specialist. She has worked in Colorado, Washington, and Alaska for organizations such as the US Forest Service, 4-H, Colorado State Forest Service, and the North Olympic Salmon Coalition. Specializing in natural resource illustrations, she draws from these experiences to enhance the details of her illustrations while being able to consider the needs of the intended audience.
She taught art at Swan School, an independent education program, and currently offers private drawing lessons and presentations to the public at large.
Audrey Anne has created illustrations for Colorado State University's Environmental Learning Center, Wild Olympic Salmon, US Forest Service, and for the Surf Rider Foundation.
